Sleepers & Waiver Wire pickups (week 8)

Apologies for missing the deadline yesterday – was totally caught up in work. It’s been a crazy busy start of the year, so I’m hoping that will be the last time I miss the Monday morning post.

Players rostered in 50% of the leagues, or less:

Justin Holiday (50%) – Playing well and the 15 pts, 3.5 threes and almost 2 steals are amazing value off the wire.
Cole Anthony (46%) – Frank Mason incoming, but should be able to hold that starting spot for most of the season.
Darius Bazley (46%) – I know people have been disappointed, but he’s extremely young and already producing across the board. The upside is amazing, even though he hasn’t looked very good this season. Can you stomach the inefficiency, though?

Jacob Poeltl (38%) – A double double with 3 blocks a game over his past 3 games? SA needs to move on from LMA asap.
Ivaca Zubac (36%) – A double double with a block? That’s no Poeltl, but nice nevertheless.
Hamidou Diallo (30%) – Really improved a lot recently, which I didn’t expect him to. Love his ability to produce across the board.

Players rostered in 25% of the leagues, or less:

Juan Toscano-Anderson (15%) – Gotta give it up to GSW’s new… big man? Useful if you’re looking for help in rebounds, mostly.
Derrick Favors (13%) – Don’t expect nothing too crazy, but he’s been playing around 20 mpg and has shown he can add low end value in FG%, reb, stl and blk.
Denzel Valentine (12%) – Moved into the starting line up and has been looking amazing. Almost like an Otto Porter jr-jr.

Alex Len (10%) – Another big man, don’t expect great value or even anything remotely consistent, but he’s looked like the Wizards third best player for this recent stretch (ouch).
Talen Horton-Tucker (5%) – Been playing around 20 mpg recently and has the ability to rack up stats. Also watch him in dynasty as he’s up for a contract next year.
Tomas Satoransky (4%) – Watch this situation closely. Coby White could be done as a starter soon, and Sato brings value to that line up, White can’t.
Javale McGee (4%) – The Nets could be eyeing him, and he would be their best C right away.
Reggie Bullock (3%) – Back on one of those hot shooting streaks. It might be the ghost of Wayne Ellington taking over his body.
Bryn Forbes (2%) – Took his sweet time, but he’s finally doing what they signed him for – hit threes. He also clearly didn’t sign to do anything else on the court.

Isaiah Roby (2%) – As the Thunder are thin up front, Roby will continue to post interesting statlines every now and then. Just really hard to rely on. Nice all round upside.
Devin Vassell (2%) – Clearly a future starter and I’m hoping he’ll be unleashed soon. Knowing Pop, it might take a while, though.

Jaylen Nowell (1%) – SCoring at a really decent clip for the struggling Wolves. DR is dealing with some leg issues, so he might continue to get good PT and touches.
Kenrich Williams (1%) – Not a great basketball player, but works his ass off and walks into some interesting stats ass backwards every now and then.
Mo Bamba (1%) – Mo sighting! Not a great basketball player either, but the Magic are down to their last 5 healthy players, it seems. Don’t be surprised if this was his best game of the season.
RJ Hampton (0%) – One of my ‘shoot for the stars’ draft picks in dynasty this year. He’s finally getting pt and producing. Not scoring at a great clip, but he’s an amazing rebounder and plays with a lot of energy. His defense could keep him on the court, as evidenced vs the Kings this weekend.

Jaden McDaniels (0%) – Still 0% Rostered? This dude’s upside is crazy. Clear future starter for the Wolves at SF and I’d be all over him in dynasty settings.

Last week’s picks:

Jae Crowder (44%) ā€“ Meh. Suns now have more healthy bodies, drop.
Cam Reddish (46%) ā€“ Meh.
Gary Trent jr. (37%) ā€“ HOLD.
Thaddeus Young (31%) ā€“ Really valuable.
Cody Zeller (30%) ā€“ Loving it.
Jeff Teague (22%) ā€“ Steady sucking.
TJ McConnell (17%) ā€“ Steady value.
Robert Williams (18%) ā€“ Hasn’t been able to deliver much, lately.
Deanthony Melton (12%) ā€“ Meh.
Theo Maledon (10%) ā€“ Starting and producing, including a 6 steal game.
Moe Wagner (5%) ā€“ Len getting signed and starting now is a bad sign.
Yuta Watanabe (1%) ā€“ Meh.
Sterling Brown (1%) ā€“ Useful.
Desmon Bane (1%) ā€“ Started last night and had a fun overall week.
Abdel Nader (0%) ā€“ Wasn’t great this week.
